Whether you are into the royal wedding or not there is no denying that their wedding reception vehicle is still the most beautiful automotive shape ever designed. This is a 1968 model that has been electrified by Jaguar/Land Rover last year and called the E Type Concept Zero.![](https://s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/prod.mm.com/uploads/2018/05/19/1526762835_gettyimages-960169408-1526755864_mmthumb.jpg)
In reply to Feedyurhed : has to be a 1967 or earlier. Covered headlights, small grill opening, turn signals above the bumper. and a few other give-always
In reply to frenchyd :
It was listed as a 1968 in the accompanying article Thanks for the clarification..
I hate everything about the royal wedding except for this.
Who wedding photo is that? Yours feedyurhead?
An electricfied e-type? Thats like watching a concert with no sound.
I know it's just a parade car but still......
In reply to yupididit :
No. That's the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Megan that took place earlier today. That's them in the car.
That IS a beautiful design.
In regards to the wedding, I had to laugh when I heard 1/2 the cost is paid by the royal family and 1/2 by the taxpayers... ITS ALL TAXPAYER MONEY!
Two things: first, putting big wheels like those on an E-type looks ridiculous. Second, somebody somewhere did some very fast talking to get this much exposure for a left-hand-drive Jaguar at the biggest celebration of the year in a right-hand-drive country!
But it’s no fiero wedding car though ![](http://www.imcdb.org/i010825.jpg)
In reply to Feedyurhed :
LMAO this is what happens when you don't watch the news.
In reply to yupididit :
Ha! I am basically like you about the news. I was really only interested in the car. Thanks for thinking it was me though! ![smiley smiley](https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/static/ckeditor/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/regular_smile.png)
His brother is well driven also. (borrowed Dad's car)

In reply to 914Driver :
Those old Brits are beautiful. I mean the cars.
If I was somehow involved in that royal mess, my wedding car would be the most British vehicle I can imagine: Supermarine Spitfire.

They look like the factory 15” wheels to me

They may look like the original 15" wheels, but they're obviously larger if you compare the tires - I'm guessing 17".

Except because of royalty like this England has tourism America could only dream of.
Our Violence and shabby condition of our infrastructure keeps a lot more away.

Meh castles are cool but other than that, wasn't impressed.
We have a little piece about the electric XKE in the upcoming issue of Classic Motorsports. Glad to see it getting some world-wide press. The battery pack and motor and everything nicely replace the original driveline--same shape and pretty much same weight.

If that’s the case, they still don’t look that bad.

The wife called me yesterday to say they had a beautiful Jag but either she was driving or the wheel was on the wrong side. They were making excuses on tv today that it was a nod to her American upbringing.

Beautiful picture.
That XKE was the Jaguar factory built E Tye Zero, an experiment to see if they could build an electric battery/drivetrain that BOLTED into where the stock drivetrain was, weighed about the same as stock and could be converted BACK to stock with a few minor changes. The idea is that in the near future, you might not be able to drive your classic car to the heart of larger cities like London and this would give you the zero emissions necessary to drive the car, while retaining full bolt-in ability to get the original value back if you wanted to. Jaguar would like to make this a kit that is available for classic Jaguar owners (since the XK engine was used in sooo many early Jaguars, form the E type to the D type to the MK2, Mk 7 , MK 9, and MK 10, as well as early XJs.)
Another bonus is that it's quicker than an original one, as EV performance is so good these days.
It's LHD as it's designed to be used in a lot of countries as a test bed.

And yes, it's a '68, with the '67 Series 1 hood/nose bolted on.
