This is awesome. While I lament the loss of one of the best sounds known to man, I'll forgive it for reliability. We won't even mention emissions, because based on my uncles E-Type the fact that it seems to go over all British on him every time he takes it out means that it is effectively zero emissions anyways in its current 6-cylinder state.

Let's not forget that J.T. beat them to the punch by several years in a polished aluminum e-Jag. He was chased by e-Chargers, which let's face it, would have spiced up the royal Wedding a bit!

That IS a beautiful design.
In regards to the wedding, I had to laugh when I heard 1/2 the cost is paid by the royal family and 1/2 by the taxpayers... ITS ALL TAXPAYER MONEY!
Wait a min. It's not that simple. The money paid to the Royal Family is only around £45m, less than $1USD per capita per year which is chump change. The family makes hundreds of millions off their various holding which you can argue about all you like. That £45m is peanuts compared to the at least £500 million the Royal Family is conservatively estimated to generate in tourism revenue each year.
The funny thing is, the only person to watch the wedding in our household was my American anti royalist wife, but she does like weddings!
As for the car. It may have started as a 68 chassis, but they could and did incorporate other years exterior parts (hence the headlight covers) as part of the electric conversion, hence some of the confusion.
