Take a 1970 to 1974 Nova or its siblings or a 1970 to 1979 (?) Camaro/Firebird and install the drivetrain from a 2005 TL into it.  Make the car transverse and FWD.  Is the front GM sub-frame wide enough for this?  Does it even matter?  Just think of the reaction at local car shows and such.

Don't hate me because I think of weird things.

Just grab the entire front clip off of a LS4 powered car and weld in on to the Nova. Should not take more than a weekend of welding. LS4 drivetrains tend to be cheap cause FWD engine not much good to hot rod world.

Yes. This would be both cheaper and make more power. No one will be sad about a 4 door getting chopped up a bit.

You would not use the GM junk forward of the firewall, anyway.

Some guy swapped the front frame section of a Toronado into a Chevelle and made a front wheel drive Chevelle.  IIRC he adapted the Chevy engine to the TH425
