Hey guys, So...my 94 miata just gained a pretty weird issue as I was driving it tonight. I haven't driven the car in about 2 weeks and decided to go for a spirited drive. I'd get a loss in power (almost like a fuel cut) usually around 3-4k rpm, but that would vary , sometimes much much lower lower. The CEL did blip on once and disappeared. I decided to pull codes and it seems that i'm getting a 4 (no SGC signal) and a 17 (which IIRC is an o2 sensor related code). Any decent way to test the CAS to see if that's really the issue? The only info I foudn seems that putting it on a scope is the only true way to test it. Would the o2 sensor failure really cause a fuel cut like that? I restarted the thing and it seems to be ok since pulling the codes. I'm stumped.

Is the tach flatlining when you get the blip? Check the wires going into the CAS, they have a tendency to crack. Get the car idling and do a good wiggle test.

Well, fixed it in about 5 mins. As soon as I got to my gf's house I broke out the flashlight and poked around. I noticed the o2 sensor was routed kinda off (as in basically laying on the exhaust manifold. I disconnected/reconnected both that and the CAS and fixed the routing of the o2..and it's been fine ever since!? Weird.
