As far as I can tell, there isn't really any hillclimb scene on this side of the country, aside from Pike's Peak, is there?

It seems to me like a California Hillclimb Series would be an awesome proposition - we have no shortage of amazing mountain roads, many of which go nowhere and are already closed down all the time for bike races, and tons of car enthusiasts and racers that would be interested. You could probably fill rosters with people from the California Rally Series and time trial/club racing events alone.

Anybody else think so?

There's some up north in the Pacific NW

Bible Creek is one.

Larison Rock is another.

Many have drifted to Rally or road racing as venues have dried up or insurance rates have gone so high that it wasn't economically feasible to run the events anymore.

Well, there is the 341 Challenge right across the border from CA.

I've been up that road a couple of times, it's a good way to scare yourself .
