I’m aware that NA MkIII Supras don’t bring in as much money as the Turbo variants, but my dad has to sell a friends ‘86 Supra that passed away. We have no clue where the markets at. It has the 7M-GE. Manual. Silver on Gray Interior. Car is in really good shape.
I looked them up on BaT, but most of them are turbos and the couple NA ones I found had really low miles, so they sold as much as the turbo ones.
Any ideas?
They're still fairly cheap out West, but usually rather used up. I think that car might be another BaT candidate if it's in really nice shape.
Can you confirm if this is indeed a Mk III? Wikipedia and Hagerty seem to think that 86 is a transistion year and it could be either a Mk II or a Mk III.
I might actually be interested depending on condition and how quickly the car has to be sold, especially if it's a Mk II, but I also happen to have fond memories of a Mk III I used to own in the UK.

That’s correct. I had an 86 MKII and the MKIII is 86.5. It got to be such a pain getting parts at the parts store that I just started telling them it was an 85.

I've been casually looking at Mk3s when I get frustrated at the lack of MR2s available. I've seen a couple really clean mk3 NA Supras for around 5-6k.
Example: 1989 Blue on Blue Surpra in the ATL
Side rant: All the 90s cars I like are practically gone. Depressing trolling Craigslist for ANY distance of my zip code at any price point and not seeing anything I would buy even to start with as a project.
In reply to BoxheadTim :
It is in fact an ‘86 MkIII. I have spent some time around the car. My dad says it says 1986 on the title.

OK, thanks. No rush (we're moving house twice in the next 6 weeks), but feel free to PM me if you get more info. I'm definitely interested.
In reply to BoxheadTim :
If it has the 7m it's an mk3, the mk2 had the 5m.
In reply to bmw88rider :
Well those look to be projects, this car is a complete, original car.
In case you haven't seen this yet, Hagerty lists values for them.

Thanks, I’ll pass that along to my dad.
