What bushings for cheap DIY engine mounts?

If I use the SBC side mounts on MonZora, I'll need to DIY them for budget. I think I want some kind of bushing in there. What are you guys using for cheap, stiff but not too stiff, round bushings with weldable shells?

I know many guys use Jeep leaf spring eye bushings.

I just buy Energy Suspension 4-link bushings, and cut tubing.

Came here to say the same thing. Used leaf spring bushings in my challenge car.

Not weldable shells, but I always have used BMW E30 engine mounts since they are cheap in both rubber and polyurethane form and are the stud style that lets me run a plate on the bottom and another on top adapted to whatever engine I have in there. Currently have a set installed in the LS1 944 but haven't actually run it yet. I'm not sure that fits the "stiff but not too stiff" criteria as the rubber would probably be too soft and poly might be a bit much.

leaf spring bushings tend to fit in a 1.75 roll cage tube cutoffs.

I'll be using Miata A-arm bushings just because that's what I have for a zero budget hit. I'll use two at the motor and two for a transmission mount, too.

I use hockey pucks with a hole drilled through them.

You can also buy pourable urethane from McMaster-Carr that is decently stiff and pretty damned cheap.

Make the mold from waxed paper and cardboard or similar, embed the necessary bits, mix and pour.  Done.

That said, hockey pucks are nearly free if poke around some of the hockey rinks or groups.

I'm sure you could hole-saw a hockey puck as well to fit in a specific tube.

Another cheap option is to get some used Marine mounts from a wasted/free boat.  I like them because they are highly adjustable left/right and up/down.  For custom installs, I can weld in a place for them to mount using a tape measure, then fine tune driveline angle and clearances with the adjustments.

I just welded up some steel brackets that we welded onto the frame and used Jaguar doughnuts to mount the GM V6 in my rebodied MG.

Let me dig through the random bin I might have something that you might be able to make work.

i've never seen those before.  shouldn't be too hard to find, as there's lots of marinas here in the Detroit area.  we are surrounded by some Pretty Good Lakes.

Jeep YJ leaf spring bushings Poly, of course.

1.25" ID/1.5" OD (ie 1/8" wall) pipe cut to 2.58" long fits really snugly. 

Don't be a wuss. Solid mount that bitch for maximum harshness.
