Wandering the CL at near-midnight on a Saturday, cause what the hell else are you going to do on a Saturday? I didn't even realize the stupid things had an IRS. Should have realized it, though. What's the width? HP limits? Etc? How similar are they to the Mustang IRS?

In reply to Mr_Asa :
I noticed a couple of them in the yard. Next week both had been stripped of their rears.

I don't know how similar they are to the IRS under the current Mustang but, I do believe they are identical to the ones under the '11-'19 Explorer and similar year range Flex.
That's the awd diff, no? If it is, I'm pretty sure it's electromagnetic controlled for the engagement of awd
I was going to say that it's the same unit used in the back of Volvo's, but I'm not sure about that now, because I can't see the module on it.
Anyway, the front chunk applies the clutches to drive the pinion, so useless as a rwd application without machining up a solid drive somehow.

It's the same type but it's different.
Not sure about the gear ratio, might be normal or it might be in the 1.3 range, but you'd want to change it out anyway due to aforementioned coupler.
Unless all the parts were practically free, it's probably easier/cheaper/better to just source a Mustang cradle if IRS is your goal.
