E36 M3 like the others have said. Autocross or track day, its just so damn good at both, plus it has some back seats for the shorties.
I think they will also hold their value really well.

Bought a R32 Skyline (non-gtr) and all aftermarket parts I wanted for near $9k total. Car arrived this week.

Car: $4000 Shipping/Fees: $2400 (shipping+importer fee was 1800 customs fees were $600) PowerFC: $900 - already had hand controller that is like $300, tuners usually have them so they are optional. Turboback Exhaust: $700 Intercooler: $600

Already has coilovers that are rebuildable but are in good shape so I didn't need to buy that.

Just need to buy a boost controller and rubber for the 350Z wheels that fit which I already had. Should be within your $10k budget.

Car has 80k miles and is in immaculate condition and it's basically a 240sx, 300zx, infiniti G20 parts bin car so parts are ridiculous cheap. Basically it will be faster and lighter than E36 M3, for cheaper, and with far cheaper parts and aftermarket.

As an aside I got a Nismo fuel pump for free. Next step is injectors, Z32 MAF, and a turbo upgrade on which I haven't decided yet. Really these cars are quick with minor/cheap upgrades like Nistune + boost controller + intercooler. I could of spend 1/3 of what I did on aftermarket.

I paid the absolute top end for this car. If you dont' need an immaculate example you can find them for $2500 all day just yo would pay double that in shipping/fees which is still cheaper than an equivalent quality M3, 240SX, AE86, MR2 Turbo, etc.

Of course you can get a immaculate 1JZ MK3 slick top supra (weighs about 500lbs less than the american version with a far better engine) for even less among other cars. Probably can get a A31 Cefiro for ridiculously cheap since it's a 4 door skyline not named skyline so people overlook it. That and Mazda Familia GTR are insane cheap too.

Skyline GTS-T

Cefiro

JZA70 Supra

Familia GTR (rally homologation car)

Of course if you want to pay even more you can get Delta Integrales, Alpina BMWs, and all sorts of other nastyness. In Japan domestic, to them, cars aren't worth much with imports you will pay more.

I vote mr2 spyder, but you all knew I'd say that. Ugly or not, they are amazing value, and involving to drive in a way few other cars are. <img src=" photo securedownload-3.jpeg" />
