Another gen 3 montero vote, very capable, easily comfortable for the 2hr roadtrip
I'll have to look more into the Montero, I generally avoid Mitsubishi products but these seem a step above the usual. Any known problems to watch out for?
For a tool that has one specific task there seems to be no point in looking for a compromise like a crossover and certainly not a Subaru (in this price range it will be headgaskets and wheel bearings in no time and a janky interior).
