Enough with the screwing around. My older brother had a 9-5 as a daily commuter until it was wrecked. He liked it so much he bought a 9-3 to replace it. Likes them very much. My cousin is also a huge Saab fan and has a pretty well tuned 9-5 and races both a 900 and a 9000 in LeMons (along with a Miata, its a big team).
However, given their age, they do require work and for a DD that just gets old quick. I'd look at something less likely to require major efforts. How about a nice GM FWD platform? There was a Pontiac Aztek listed for under $2K over in Swank's thread that sounded interesting....

Seriously though, thanks for the tip. The age issue is something I'm keeping in mind. People are scared of the orphan brand, that's driven prices low though, and I is cheap.
