My seats in the E21 are beyond gone. I'm looking for something decent for a temporary replacement until I win the lottery and buy a set of E21 Recaro's = $$$.
So what cars should I look for. The local pull-a-part charges $23 for a seat.

I agree.
Also my 405 Mi16 has fantastic seats but you probably won't find one at pull-a-part.
I like the Dodge stealth seats I put in my pickup and there are a bunch of dodges with low miles. I liked nissans, hondas, volvos(too big), etc but for the condition the dodge was the best bet and there isn't much interest in stealths.

There's no way the MX6 seats will i don't think. And they're heavy.
The MX3 recaros might very well fit in a miata somewhat easily, actually. I also don't think they're MUCH higher than stock seats.
S2000 seats aren't bad, but you better take care of them or they will rip. Of all the cars I owned, I liked my Z32 seats (manual) the best.
I don't think you will find either in a junkyard.
Thanks for the suggestions so far. Gives me some idea of what cars I need to look for next time I get to the yard.
However I feel some of the suggestions will be hard to find
I think some GTIs have recaros too.. goodluck finding them though.
I wonder if some E30 or E36 sport seats might not bolt right in?
I hear 1st gen MR2 seats are pretty nice. I hear someone even has a cherry set for sale

Merkur XR4Tis have nice seats. It's a good feature, so you're comfy while you're waiting for AAA. I believe they were made by Recaro. Of course, the '79 Mustang Pace Car had Recaros too.
Sport seats from the 97+Audi a4. Look for cars with a three spoke steering wheel to identify a sport seat.
In reply to mndsm:
I'd gladly swap ya seats from my Probe GT Turbo for the ones out of your MX-6....
Also 88-92 626 GT, the "family version" of the MX6 GT. They don't have the same seats but they are still good. As are the seats from the earlier '86-'87 626s. Those actually have more adjustments.
LOL I already have a set of 7th gen Celica GT seats set for it, mine will probably be for sale for a song... they're minty nice, and blue!
I like 3rd and 4th generation Prelude seats. The seats from a 3rd gen 4WS prelude are super nice. Good luck finding one, though.
Nicksta, if you want to make the drive to Indy, i have a minty pair of 626GT seats that are now available as of this afternoon.
And a set of MX6 GT seats. One of them is mint, driver's side has a torn bolster.
Are we at the point yet where WRX or even Evo seats are a viable junkyard option for swaps?
A weird option is Sebring seats. I'm not sure about which model it'd have to be from, but my I was in my friend's mid-00s Sebring 'vert a few weeks ago and was stunned at how nice the seats were for what the car is.
S14 240sx seats are pretty good, but usually the first thing to go when one hits the junkyard. And I agree on the prelude 4WS seats. They're fantastic.
I really like the old Porsche 944 recaros that I put in the e30. The leather is all cracked and nasty, but they're comfortable and hold be great even when rallycrossing. I see a couple 944s at the yard every time I go, and the seats are always there (and the leather is always cracking). Nothing a seat cover can't take care of though.
I also really like the stock seats in my 09 WRX. All manual, good cloth, good bolstering. They could be a bit stiffer though.
