I got so used to wood steering wheels that I bought the wood one from a euro market Touareg and swapped it into mine. A non wood one felt odd
+1 for backup cameras. Agreed I don't like them as an alternative to mirrors or other visibility. But they are a nice addition. So handy for parallel parking. I almost wish I had a FWD camera in the front grill.
I've got a very different opinion of backup cameras. I've yet to use one I thought was useful. The mirrors generally tell me more, and I've spent enough time needing to not hit what I can't see that I don't mind a few blind spots in close quarters maneuvering.
That said, parking sensors are handy for being able to back up very close to things consistently.

I like that with a backup camera you can pull into the garage, close the door, then backup until you are within an inch of the door.
I've fallen in love with back up cameras. They really help the most when trying to back out of a parking space in a small car with a large truck or suv on each side of you. No mirror on the planet can help you see what's coming down the aisle like the camera. At least the Korean ones. They're all I have experience with. They have almost the perfect fisheye angle.
The stock FR-S/BRZ wheels. Some spokes are painted black, some are not. Looks like, well, a lame, stock rim.
(OK,so I guess it qualifies as modified) A little gold paint, and it looks 1000% better.

Based on the various combos of camera, no camera, sensors, and no sensors I've driven, I'd tend to say no. For rolling a car back to a garage door, I've always just judged it by brake light glow.
One day I lightly bumped into our door at work. I have three mirrors and one camera and I still manage to space out and bump the door.
I don't really like backup cameras but after my dad put that stupid cap on his truck I can't see through 3 layers of glass at night so it's a necessity. We also installed one on the church bus. Sure makes lining up trailers easier.
Styling wise I made a flipflop. Younger me though Fox bodies looked cheap and early S197s looked amazing. As the years went by the Fox body styling grew and I started to dislike the early S197.
Backup Cameras in general.
I hated the 720 headlights when they came out. I must say, they've quite grown on me. Used to look like the eyes of a corpse to me.
Porsche 914 front end with those weird corner lights, used to hate the looks but somehow I really like them now

for me it's step tubes/bars on trucks. I never liked the look, and they only ever were necessary for short people, but now my bone stock 2016 ram has the rocker height of an 88 chevy with a 12" lift and it was basically impossible to get into before i put steps on it.

Those Superduties looked big to me when I first saw them as a kid (compared to other trucks), but at this point, the design has aged quite well. It pretty much just says "hi, I'm a truck, give me something heavy to move" without being bulky and flashy like a lot of newer trucks.

The only thing is if I didn't have those tubes on my Silverado I could easily slide under it and now it's a struggle to go under. (My 4x4 is the base model with the weenie tires and wheels so it's low)

To continue on about my truck. As a former Ohio Dept of Transportation truck, it came with that amber roof light already installed. Wow, how handy that thing is. I wish I had the same on every vehicle I own. It's also interesting to drive something so "authoritative" without being some kind of creepy authoritative like having roof lights on a P71 giving a fake cop vibe.
As pictured, I often tow with the truck. When towing, I tend to run the amber light just like real tow trucks do in this state. I'm not trying to "fake" looking like a real tow truck but if the amber light can draw more attention to me such as alerting other cars on the highway that I might be traveling slower than them...that's a good thing.
If you ever stop on the side of the road/highway, that darn light it fantastic.
Another funny story.... The IAA salvage auctions want you to wear hi-viz in their lot when picking up cars. So, for $5, I have one like this from Harbor Freight:
I keep this vest in the truck, behind the seat. Now, imagine yourself anywhere with this truck, parked off the road and wearing this vest. It is pretty much the official uniform for "I'm allowed to be here." Not that I'm off running around private, restricted properties this way but if you wanted to, this would seem to be the way to do it. Given the situation, just add some additional accessories like a clip board or a hard hat. Whatever the situation warrants.
Power windows. Kid in the back seat "Dad, I want my window down..." "well buddy, hold on to your hat...*click* TADA!" and without window cranks roll cage placement is less critical to the door.
Backup Camera. Hooking up trailers is cheating or seeing that kids bike laying behind your 22ft of truck.

All of this is so true, had a F250 state issued service truck for several years and with the "ambers" and a vest you could go almost anywhere unimpeded. I miss that truck sometimes, not the job mind you, just the truck.
I never thought I would get used to having a TPMS system tell me when my tires needed air, but now I feel weird driving a car without it.

My daughter and I went to the beach on a busy weekend. Parking here is always an issue. Just a lot a cars trying to get into a tight area. I am parked "legal" but I knew it was enough of an issue that looking "official" couldn't hurt. I moved in on the Jeep as much as possible so as to not be blocking the crosswalk. Though, it could be argued I am too close to the corner. There is however no sign like one that would say, "no parking from here to corner."
No parking ticket!

Amber turn signals and fried egg headlights on the 986/996
Wow, how did i miss this. I disliked 996.1 lights until after I had already owned mine for a while. Then i decided they are pretty great and 996.2 lights are an abomination and i can't upgrade to a 996 Turbo unless i add $10k for the ridiculous amount of effort i'd spend trying to backdate it to a modified 996.1 front end.
So yeah, the fried eggs should have been my first submission here!!
