Just passed a Neon and a Saturn sitting by the road just north of Arcadia, Fl as I was going to Sebring this morning.  I've been going by that place for 33 years, and have never seen a car leave that property.  Plenty have been added in that time, but none really leave.  There's a '91 Caprice up on blocks that has been there forever.

I know this thread isn't exactly fresh so sorry for that but man I got all sorts of nostalgic reading this.  I miss the all the hillclimbs,  Blue Mountain Region SCCA,  Rich, Steve, Merlin, Skip, and everyone that makes it happen up there.  I used to race neon also and I still have a 98 Plymouth 2dr ACR that I'll get around to one day.  Who else has the high performance neon builders handbook?  I used to race with Mike Ancas who wrote that book and he was a huge help with getting me started in neon.  Sorry for the long rambling and really useless post but reading all that got me feeling kinda sad because I miss it but happy also to have been a part of it. I'll add a lil picture of random neon stuff I still have.

I passed one the other day! Sadly, it’s been a while since seeing one.

This thread popping back up triggered a memory:

When these were still in the concept stage and doing the car show circuit in pre-production, I was in 6th grade. While my 6th grade teacher was a lot of things that I won't get into at the moment, he was also a car guy and owned two Corvettes: a mid-year C2 and a C4. Trying to make a connection with me and some of the other budding gearheads in the class, he would bring in car magazines for us to read. I remember one Monday he came in after going to the Boston International Car Show that weekend, absolutely smitten with the Neon. By the end of the school year, he owned one. He was very proud of it, and used it as a daily driver instead of the C4.

At the time, the Neon was revolutionary. Even though Chrysler had built small cars before, there was something about the Neon that hit different. My teacher wasn't alone; chatter about the Neon was all over the place, and people really were blown away by them at first. The hype was real!

I got my license in 1981.  Between then and when I bought the Manic Miata in 2010, my '95 ACR was the most fun-to-drive car I owned.

I can't believe this local one is still for sale. A little scabby looking but not a lot of money
