I can't see how anyone at an EV race will enjoy the loss of noise while high on meth, unless Kieth Urban is holding a concert right in the middle for full sensory-overload.

Yeah, this.

No. The noise and rumble is part of the experience. And nascar is running out of ways to attract people to round racing. EV's would attract some new folks, but nowhere near enough to save nascar.

Well, to allow the drivers to survive. Production cars designed to crush would have to be limited to the speeds they were designed for. 100 or less probably.
Then too, most of them would be V6's front wheel drive.
And I don't know about air bags. The chassis are designed to crush but they also need airbags. But having an airbag or three going off while still traveling 90 mph and steering? Hmmmm.

To be fair, if they didn't use restrictor plates, they'd just lower the HP another way. The cars would be so fast around the Superspeedways as to not only be completely unsafe for the drivers but for the fans as well.
Elliott went 212 back in '87. Now that the cars have dramatically better aero and another 300+ HP I suspect you'd be seeing speeds in the 250 range.
