Cool in a "proves how hard it is to get car design Juuuusssstttt right" sort of way.

A crappy photo of a badly customized car?

If the engine is a V6, a Buick 3.8L would be a great answer considering the Opels were sold through the Buick dealerships.

Someone give me the money for this. I will trailer it home and get the thing up on the lift and get it up and running.

I hope the frame ain't all chopped up like the body.

Still I really like the look of it.

In reply to Daeldalus: You mean if they added a frame. Opels are unibody.

I go with the crowd that says it is a lengthened hood, shortened body Opel 1900 Ascona. Appears to look like a V6 in it. Also appears to be a Targa top or the seam where they welded the roof on the back window frame is coming loose.
Oh yeah, Opel did make inline-6 but didn't import them to the states. In the bigger Opels we never got. Like Admiral, Senator & Diplomat.

Craigslist ad says clean title, maybe just contact the seller and ask him what the title lists under "make" or what the vin tag has stamped on it? Why he would be trying to sell a total custom with just two terrible photos. Might be worth asking him about that as well.

I probably shouldn't contact the seller. I am already trying to convince myself that this would be a terrible idea and the wife has already vetoed me buying the car on grounds that it is too much money for our budget right now(which it probably is)

But if I get too much info on the car I might still be tempted to buy it

A quick spray of "Mystery Be-Gone" and you have your answer. That all things were this easy.
