So, found a buldge in the sidewall of the right rear. All tires clise to the wear bars, so no shame.

Factory size is 205/45/16 according to the dooslr sticker, and that is what is currently on it.

Id like a little more meat under it, and a slightly taller tire wouldn't piss me off. Too much fender gap, but wont lower due to it now being my daily.

Car 8s a daily, i live in the south. Snows rarely. Im looking for all seasons that are fun, well behaved in bad weather, and long lived. Ive had the car a week, and did 800 miles in it. Thats pretty normal for me.

So, go!!

Top thoughts are falken 912 and Continental dws in 215/45/16 or 215/40/16 by the way, due to how they work on the p5.

I have Hankook Ventus V2 on my Miata for daily use. Grippy in dry and wet. 205/50-16 size, I'd assume you could find slightly wider.

Can't go wrong with the Continental DWS. Everyone I know who uses them loves them.

I'm on my third set of Yokohama S-Drives. The first set was on the factory 17" wheels. The last two I went with 205/55-15. The tires that came on the car when new were 205/40-17 and I didn't like the look of the giant 17" wheels. I also wanted a little more circumference so went with the 55 series tires instead of the more popular 50 series. Tire Rack has S-Drives in 205/50-16 and 205/45-16. These are not all season tires though and not all that well behaved in bad weather, but they do ok in the wet. Drove them in the snow a couple times and it is not recommended. I only put 1000 miles on my miata last year, but since I got rid of my WRX it has been back to being my primary car for the last couple months.

That's the size I run on my MSM, which I daily. I bought two sets of identical rims, one with summer and one with winter tires. Conti DWS are really good winter tires. But when I put the Bridgestone RE-71s on in the spring, my heart rejoices. I've tried Kumho XS in 215 width, and really prefer the 205s. Lighter and grippy enough with the no compromise RE-71s for summer. OK, the treadwear isn't so good. But they are comfy enough and grip like hell.

So, conti 205/50/16 would be the hot ticket? Little taller, good all around?

And what im hearing is that the extra width isnt really necessary or beneficial on the street.

Miatas look better on bigger wheels and tires, but I've always thought that they work best on stock the stock sizes.

My first three Miatas came with 14 inch wheels. I bought 15s for all three of them but eventually, they all went back to 14s.

Now I've bought a 95 that came from the factory with 15s and I will upgrade to 14s.

The biggest mistake I made on my 1990 Miata was 15 inch Panasports with 205/50-15 tires. Weight is the enemy. It felt like a truck compared to the 14" daisies with 195 width tires. An NB can use more rubber, but I never understood the folks that run 275 width tires at autocross. IMO, 205 is fine for an NB on the street.

15x8 Storm S1 is a little over 10 lbs. Put some 225/40-15 on there. BUT, you better use stiffer springs or swaybars, if you do...

There's way more grip with the 275 Hoosiers, the car is much faster around an autocross course with them. Believe it or not 15x9 6ULs weigh the same as the stock 14x5.5 daisies, and Hoosiers are a very light tire. The 275/35R15s weigh only 1 pound more than a RT615K in 195/55R14 (the only 200tw autox tire available in that size).
