Yes. Google: Generator Interlock Kit. A quick search turned up a number of versions depending on what brand panel you have, but all were under $100 (plus the new branch breaker). Whether it will work for you will depend on that and if you have room on the panel to juggle breakers around. Plus, what type of Main you have will make a difference. Some panels have the Main mounted as one of the branch breakers. For that you'll need a different kit.

Definitely something I'd recommend having an electrician install, but it shouldn't take them more than an hour or so.

Yeah, I do all of our plugs and switches and lighting fixtures but I'm leaving the higher amp/voltage stuff to the pro's!

Yes, it was added to my existing panel. I just needed to relocate the generator breaker to the top, drill four holes in the panel cover WITH THE COVER REMOVED!! and install the interlock. It's a little tricky bolting it together, as you have to get it tight enough to hold but loose enough to slide, all while keeping it properly aligned.
