What to do with an old i6 crankshaft?

1) Make a lamp
2) Door stop
3) Tap handle ornamentation
4) Get $ for scrap
5) Whatever you suggest

1 is good. How long overall? My local parts yard uses an old crank for a mailbox post.

It is a BMW M50 crank so not long enough for a table without welding a pipe to it.

The mailbox does not have a post - it is right on the house but that was a good one.

Coat rack?

run LED lights into all the opiling holes and hang it abouve your workbench as task lighting.

make it into a giant key for a hidden room in your house

Lamp since you can't do the mailbox.

Weld a cam to it and make a coat rack.

If it's useless or worthless as a car part, make a lamp. Sell the lamp if you have no use for it. Make the rest of the lamp from car parts to get the most for it.

Nightstand?

I was just thinking about using one with an old hubcap welded to the top as a plant stand for the front porch, but the wife vetoed that idea before I even finished the sentence. I guess my idea would make a good ash tray for outside my shop, except for the fact that I don't have any friends or family members that smoke.

Ohhh. That gives me an idea. If I were to attach an old steely to one end I could mount a bench grinder on the other and have it be heavy enough not to tip over. Hmmm.

Now thats cool right there. How can I mount my tubing bender to one of these???

One of my neighbors has a 'sculpture' of a woman in his front yard. Complete with headlights. Will post a pic when I can get one surreptitiously.

There's a guy by me who specializes in that kind of thing. One of his works is a life-sized horse with pistons for hooves.

So make an end table instead... I have a Nissan 4 cyl block that I have this in mind for.
