I think if Jag could take a bunch of the Rivian party tricks and package them into a striking SUV and give it model S acceleration, they'd be relevant again.

So basically a rebodied R1S :) With a skateboard architecture, that's actually plausible. Set up a deal for Rivian to sell skateboards to Jaguar, Jag pounds out some sexy bodies for it. That has some actual potential.

Acceleration is such a commodity in the EV world I think it's going to become less of a factor in purchasing.

When do we start?

The biggest problem jag has now is that the  company has both land river and Range Rover. With the moves to more suv and crossover this is really hurting jag as its customers and potential customers seem far more interested in one of the rovers then any jag suv. Ev could help but probably not much as both rovers are likely headed that way aswell.

This has nothing to do with the discussion topic other than it's a picture of an E-type, but I didn't know where else to put it.  smiley

I'm trying to find a certain posters inane comments humorous now, instead of infuriating. I actually took a break from the forum last year for like 4-5 months because it annoyed me so much. I don't understand why someone who was banned, creates another account, and comes back and does the same stuff hasn't been banned again.

Besides annoying you... what's ban worthy exactly? Just stick  with considering it the humorous musings of your weird uncle!

He isn't attacking anybody nor talking religion or politics. Is it that hard to ignore and keep scrolling?

I think he is goofy but harmless and probably lonely more than anything. He has told some stories so many times I know when they'll be repeated but you must admit the man has shared some interesting life experiences. He is in my top five board members for whom I'd love to see a long format profile in the magazine.

(the following is purely tongue in cheek)

You annoy me because you have an awesome sports car that you've modified and told us all about yet you don't drive it - but I don't think it's ban worthy.

I think the last time I even thought about Jaguar was when the F-Pace came out and I thought "wow, that's a dumb name for a really generic looking SUV."

Honestly Frenchy is one of the forum members I'd love to have a beer with, even though  I don't agree with a lot of his points of view.

Or F-Face, which is what I always think it is.

Hahaha! I've been trying to drive it more often.  7.5 months of ownership I think it's now up to 1250 miles! Just had it's first oil change this week (dealer gives you the first 4 or 6 free, can't remember). And some programming recall.

A buddy of mine and few friends are planning on taking a long weekend trip over to Arkansas at some point this year to hit all the fun roads over there and probably stay in Eureka Springs for a few nights. Just gotta wait for the fiance to get a job (was laid off 3 months ago) before I start spending money again.

I keep saying I'm going to try AutoX, but then I never get around to it.

It is possible but tricky. Tesla was able to make the roadster mostly because they could adopt most of the safety testing approvals from Lotus. I am not sure if those waivers and allowances have been sealed up to prevent a similar coach builder type situation occurring again. It would be best to describe the new coachbuilders as reskin makers.

Jaguar could have a future if someone wanted to rebuild the image of the brand but I figure if I constantly forget they still exist then most younger people probably don't even know they make cars. Probably think they are just a dealer name like Main Street Cars or Friendly's Automall. cheeky

I was under the impression that any automaker producing less than a certain number (350?) per year was now exempt from safety standards, although they still had to meet emissions standards.

Well shut my mouth!!!
Just as I was ready to give up on Jaguar  they announce a new 4 door sedan with more power than any previous Jaguar.
All for the low low price of $125,000.

Jaguar is down to selling fewer than 3000 cars a month globally.

Their $128,000 EV is all they have left and that's not even built yet.
