Thanks for the info, but the only way this car has a challenge in its future is under the ownership of somebody else.
I'll get some interior pics this weekend, and check for the swivel buckets.

I was just sayin'..... earlier that I'm enough of a car guy to NOT send anything to the crusher, with out at LEAST offering it to an enthusiast for purchase/restore/part out. This is NOT my car though. It has lived in my parents barn for at least 20-25 years. Owner stopped paying storage fees well over 10 years ago, and has been a NO show, NO response. My parents WILL have a storage/mechanics lein/ title transfer. So title WILL be in their name soon. They have jumped through about 75% of the hoops/police inspection/VIN verification/ BMV / court paper work & paying fees. I'll get some pics of the interior/engine this weekend and see if the engine turns freely or is locked up.
I'd guess $1000, maybe $2000 if it has the top engine option and a 4 speed.

Very few Grand Ams in 1973 (the number I've heard is 187) had a four speed transmission, and only with a 400 engine - not the 455.
Oh boy. Does it have swivel buckets? Auto or manual?

I cant find any redeeming qualities on that car.
If it could be cleaned, got running and driven at that point, it might be worth a couple of grand.
As is, it has enough rust and is missing enough unobtainable parts that it could not be restored or driven.
If you wanted to he a hero, you could part it out and make some fans happy, but that sounds like work to me.
If the $400 scrap value is them collecting it, I would put it on Craigslist for $500 and give it a week.

These were decent cars for the day, which isn't saying a lot.

If that has a poncho 400 with a 4bbl under the hood, I'd be interested in the engine for the lemans....but I am in no way able to take the complete car to do so.

Bet I haven't seen one in well over ten years but after this thread started I saw one just a couple days later on the way to work. Seeing in person reminded me how I liked 'em, same color as OP too.

When I turned 16 (1987) and bought my first car, I frequented the local Champion Auto Parts store. This was the local speed shop type place at the time, and a guy that worked there at the parts counter had one of these. It was just plain cool. The slopped back end, aero nose, etc.
However it ends up (restored, circle track car, challenge car, etc) it's better then where it's sitting now. Hopefully a future driver for someone.
Sold this weekend before I was able to post the pics I took. Sale price = $500.
