What's the rarest car you've owned?

1969 Mustang GT! About 5000 built and I have owned 3.

1970 Mustang convertible deluxe! About 1400 made.

1984 Mustang GT Turbo convertible. One of 412.

1981 Mustang convertible prototype. 1 of 1. Cannot claim to have owned it but I was so close! Found in a scrap yard and worked a deal with one boss, took off to get cash and a trailer and showed up after the other boss got back from lunch and overruled the deal...then they crushed it.

1991 Galant VR4, 2000 made for 91' and 1000 for 91'. But, I have a Conquest. I see way more Galant VR's rolling around than I see Conquest or Starions.

I've owned a 1991 Isuzu Impulse RS (1 of around 600 in the U.S.) and currently own a 1991 Lotus Elan (1 of around 560 in the U.S.). Also owned a 1998 Subaru 2.5RS in green with gold wheels that years later someone told me was a quite rare combo. Who knew.............

I have a long list of cars that I've owned that are quite odd.........Chevrolet Sprint Turbo, Suzuki Swift GT, Corvair Spyder, Merkur XR4ti, Alfa Romeo GTV6 and Milano's, Saab 9-3 Viggen, Chevy Citation X11, Neon ACR, etc. I have a thing for odd cars.

Galant VR4 would be the documented rarest car I had, had a 91 and a 92.

Otherwise, uncommon would have been my 1988 VW GTI 16V with manual everything and factory no A/C.

Mine was probably a 1987 Mazda Turbo II that looked good and ran well in 2010.

My first/previous car was a 1999 Taurus SE, which was a fairly common car. However, mine was a duratec engine with dual exhaust and a column shift, which was a fairly rare options package and most '99 duratecs went out the door with single exhaust (the car was a dealer salesman's car so it's possible he had the service department put the exhaust from a '98 on the car before I got it).

'70 Triumph GT6+. Still have it. In 20 years of ownership, I've only ever seen 3 or 4 others on the road (and one is a local guy I know).

Borgward Hansa 1100/Goliath. Only in the US 4 years.

First year Lotus Elise S1 (one of the first 100 production cars) was probably the rarest I owned.

One of the motorbikes in my shed is one of less than a 100 made.

1999 M Coupe. 2180 S52-engined M Coupes were built.

In 2001 Ford made 7500 Street Edition (special handing package and interior trim). 2500 were wagons and the rest were sedans. Unfortunately my sedan is red which was the most common color. If I had known anything about it at the time I would have bought the blue one the dealer had.

97 Range Rover, HSE, Camerson Concepts, 3 were retained in the US of 50 built from the 500 HSE Vitesse models in yellow or red, of the 3 one was yellow, I have that one.

The rest went to the Middle East of which most likely none have survived.

It would be a toss up for my rarest. Either the 69 Fiat 124 sport spider - smooth hood. First year imported.

Or the 69 Sunbeam Alpine 2 door hardtop fastback GT. Only 5000 made world wide over a two year production run. Total for base through GT.

Next would probably be my 04 Saab 9-3 convertible. Just because, well, it is a Saab.

My grandfather bought a new 1977 Mercury Cougar Villager station wagon. It was a one year only body style. Even back when they were new, I never saw another one.

I had a 1965 Mustang coupe that was sort of a transition car. It was built too late to be a 64.5 but still had a handful of the unique details that made a car a 64.5. That car also had a ton of factory options: vinyl top, a/c, tinted glass, power steering and brakes, console, spinner hubcaps, 289 auto and probably some more that I've forgotten.

I had a Titan Mk IX Formula Ford chassis that they probably only made a dozen of.

I had a Montesa Cota 315R that wasn't really rare in the trials world, but was as close to being an exotic vehicle as anything I've owned.

I also bought an '89 Civic SI new, which wasn't exactly rare, but they were uncommon among Civics. I also threw almost the whole accessory catalog at it before taking delivery. I added a/c, the Full Logic stereo which was made by Alpine, the graphic equalizer, which required an optional center console, armrest, mats and a Mugen leather steering wheel.

1957 Jaguar Mk1 Saloon: loved that car. Red, red leather, wire wheels.

1957 Triumph TR2: made some improvements and flipped it. Decided I didn't like them as much as MGs.

1955 Thunderbird: got smart and bought this one right, already restored. Red with white 56 porthole hardtop.

I'm not sure about rarity, But I had a 5 speed 84 Z28 with AC delete, radio delete. But it had T tops. I also had a 88 Fiero Formula WS6 5 speed, what made it very rare was it was a T top car
