We started out using a 20-inch tall Hoosier R25a tire on the rear of our LeGrand. We soon discovered that this made our gearing way too short, allowing us to hit the top of third gear at nearly any autocross. We looked over the gearing charts for the KZ drivetrain and realized that we needed to go …

Those wheels look great! The LeGrand is really coming together to be a sweet car. DO you have a link for Keizer?

Looking forward to that! Nothing is better then double the power.

Triple the power is better than double!

I hope that when this build goes to print in GRM, people will realize what a great class of cars the DSR's are to play with.

I'll probably be in the 2x range. 80-90hp to about 160-180 depending on the engine we use.

As a suggestion for solo with the new motor: Keep the charging system on the motor. Mine was disconnected when I got it and it was tough to keep the car cool at an event with two drivers. I wired it back up and installed an electric fan and it's easy now. It's also nice not to have to recharge the battery every day. The convenience and temp maintenance is well worth the couple of HP you may lose by running the system.
