I have a pinto with a mustang 2 rear end. I also have mustang turbines that I run on the car. My problem is that the tires sit too far in (too much back spacing?) I do not want to get custom wheels (4 lug 108mm) with my back spacing so I am playing with the idea to either adding spacers or adapter plates. Adapter plates are fairly easy to get (billet aluminum drilled with studs attached) and can be had with my thickness of 1.25 inches. My concern is that I would need to shorten the existing studs to run them and that they are only as good as the material. The other is to replace the wheel studs with longer units (available from summit racing) and just get the billet spacers drilled at my dimensions.
In my mind, the spacer would be better. Am I wrong?
