Mom's 08' Vue recently triggered the abs/trac lights, which leads me to believe it's a wheel speed sensor. Interestingly, no CEL and my cheapie code scanner confirms no codes.

Now I could go through and swap all 4, but knowing GM engineering that's probably an entire day's effort. I seem to remember there was a GM specific free diagnostic software for this era of GM vehicle, but I can't recall the name. Any intelligent ways of sussing out which corner is the culprit?

Inspect the wires for damage.  GMs were bad for routing the wires to the front sensors in such a way that they get damaged from excessive flexure.  This is mainly on vehicles where the wiring clipped to the control arm. I forget how the VUE did it, but all the same it is not uncommon for breakage to happen.

Like Pete said.

Also, get a better code reader that will talk to the abs.

That's the first thing I did, wiring looks decent for a 14 year old vehicle. In these ones, the sensors clip to the back of the dust shield. There's some damage to the lower valence on the passenger's side of the front bumper. My educated guess is that's the corner with the bad sensor. Of course I put the impact gun on and immediately stripped one of the lug nuts completely smooth.
