Yeah they do some really questionable stuff occasionally.

Ya that episode has been kicking around for a while. They did a number on that one..........really freaked the RX7 guys out. The FD RX7 is one of the most beautiful designs to ever come out (IMO) too. Kind of like putting polka dots on an E type.

I don't know what they were thinking with that one. The wacky wheels might have been inspired by the stance scene, but the full body graphics they went back to Super Street in 1997.

That might have been my least favorite episode.

On the E39 M5 build take a look at the tires in the beginning and another look at the end. They it new tires on the car and didn't include it in their cost. After that, I questioned their honesty and stopped watching the show.

I love me some FD RX7, so I spent much of that episode going "no, no, no, no, NO!". They did it anyway. There was also the Miata episode where Mike buys a bunch of chromed plastic to tart up the interior. I'm pretty sure you could see Edd's eyes rolling.

There was also that old Cadillac they painted lime green, and the Anglia that looked like a carnival ride. Even if their taste is sometimes questionable I still like watching the show, unlike most others they concentrate on actually getting dirty and working on the car.

I like this show. They did a nice job on the WRX. I think their tastes come out with the thought of trying to quickly sell the car and reach the right buyer as soon as possible.

I don't think I would go that far. It's still a good show, way better than 98% if the automotive shows out there.

I have noticed some inconsistencies with stuff like tires and such, but I don't let that bother me.

The FD episode however was kind of ridiculous. It had a Mazdaspeed body kit and BBS wheels. It would have looked great if they left it alone.

None of that stuff they did to the FD was permanent, so I didn't have any problem with it. I didn't like the snake theme either, but the way they did the wheels was really kind of cool. I had never seen anything like that before. Replace the wheels or strip off the snake skin, and remove the tacky vinyl, and you have a pretty sweet FD left.

Reminds me of their Skyline build. Putting that massive wing on. Or when they put colored rims on the 944.

I think they are morons most of the time, lol.

Their episodes still hold value though. I think of the AW11 MR2 episode first when thinking of good episodes.

One thing is this is reality TV so they need to do stupid E36 M3 to attract viewers.

It's lots of fun watching Edd cringe every time the other guy wants to do something stupid.

For fun, look up why Edd doesn't drive (in England)

Ya I thought of those two episodes also. Ruined the Skyline and the 944 IMO but I really still like the show. Probably my favorite out of all those types of shows. Sure beats Fast N Loud and Graveyard Cars which are so scripted it's ridiculous. Wheeler Dealers you can actually learn something on occasion, the others you can't.

Wheeler Dealers ain't bad at all considering other automotive programming these days. The characters are good and there's interesting builds that we (US) wouldn't normally encounter. I learned not to question their builds so much as it is their quid and made for TV so I cut 'em a break there. Only thing I can't figure is why Edd doesn't clean and detail more while replacing parts or rebuilding that could add to the resale value but then that would be the typical mechanic's job.

Granted, I only usually watch Velocity Cars n Coffee after my midnight shift so it's a great way to detune. Also like CCC w/ Wayne Carini and the Mecum auctions.

I kind of wish I hadn't. These cars are so pretty just as they came from the factory. Sad.

Made me cringe when that kid bought it back.

As for the snakeskin, at least it'd be fairly easily undone.
Peel the vinyl, unbolt/scuff/spray the wheels and spoiler, right as rain.

See, part of me thinks it was set up and they might have been doing the design at the direction of the kid who sold/bought it.

Yup exactly. It's a "reality" show but it's mostly actual reality. There is scripted dialogue and terrible acting, sure, but it's not the same kind of fake kind of reality show like Graveyard Cars.

Is that an aftermarket front end on that FD? It looks good if it is, i'm guessing it's some kind of a late-model update after the car stopped being sold here.
