Good evening Grass Roots Motor Sports...um......community, I've got a few questions after working in the garage. First I'll start with brakes, I have finally installed the front suspension in my Stag. I was one bolt away from getting it done, when the brake dust shield kept getting in the way, so after some more colorful language I decided to just take it off. I'm just asking if this is a good (better brake cooling I hear) or bad thing. My next question is what tires should I get for my Stag? The current size is 195/70 R14. The car will be my daily driver, and see some track days and autocross so a sporty street tire would work I think. Finally, I am also looking in to finding a shop that could refurbish my rims for me, or should I do it my self, or get Minilite rims. Thank you for your auto knowledge, Ryan

Leave the backing plates on. If it's going to be a DD you want to keep as much junk out of there as possible. Tires? check out tirerack.com. good prices and a ton of info on tires. As far as wheels, panasports were less than $200 a piece for my TR3 (15")

You cn leave the dust shield off. My ZX2SR didn't have any from the factory on the front brakes.

as your stag will be an occasional DD/track/sunnyday car.. do not worry about all seasons. A good summer tyre will do you well.

I agree on the panasports. Light weight, good looks, better sizes.. and cheap price. What can go wrong?

If it's in the budget I'd go to 15" wheels for the tire selection alone. There just aren't that many choices in the 14" sizes anymore.
