In 2011 Daytona's Squeak Kennedy and I finished a two year build of a Rolex GT C6, (the one in my avatar).  It was meant to be a club racer that could go Rolex racing if the lottery god's smiled on us.  We raced it for a few years in SCCA and a couple times with HSR and then it sat as Squeak built a Trans Am 2 car for son Bobby.  It is now getting a refurb and repower with a 600 HP LS3.

In 2013 I stripped everything out of a road race late model stock car I had after realizing selling 30 K worth of parts for 16K wasn't all that smart.  That became the foundation for the four year build of the tube frame 1968 Corvette Outlaw vintage car that I just finished up.  That car goes to Sebring this weekend with SCCA for a shakedown.  With my kids and grandkids in town, I can't even be there for the debut of my own car.  Oh well, better to get it sorted out.

So....My buddy Steve Tye and I came across a nice build of an SCCA C4 Corvette at a fair price so we jumped in again.  The car is a 1984 Corvette, the only version allowed in SCCA ITR class.  Of course it has the dreaded CFI (cease fire injected) motor with twin TBI (toilet bowl injection).  The car was well thought out and constructed by Brian Bagnall from Mass.  He raced it for a few years at Lime Rock and Thompson, probably not the best tracks for the car.  It held its' own though and we think it will be much better at Daytona, Sebring, Homestead etc.  We might take it up to the FIRM in North Fl for a get to know you session.  We wanted a V8 enduro racer and we think this could be a fun way to go.  The lowly CFI 350 does not make a lot of HP, but does make a bunch of torque.  It pulls RPM similar to a John Deere tractor compared to the LS motor in the C6, but we believe it will be a hoot.  The car will get some American Torque Thrust II wheels and the livery will be reminiscent of the old Sunray DX Corvette's of the sixties. I don't have much money...but I do spend most of it on race cars.

The C6 was started in 2009 and completed in 2011.  It is a tube frame with coilovers, three link rear with a nine inch Ford rear.  It had a class legal LS6 back then, but is getting a 600 HP carb LS3 and the ALMS GT2 type body (with some changes).  It should be done late this year.  Pic of C6 is from 2014.

The 68 has just been completed also tube frame with an early 80's type IMSA Camel GT type motor.
