I need to get either some vinyl that I can cut or some actual white round dots to put on my car- where's a good place to get that?

A quick call of the local sign store- they want to charge $170 for 3 3' white dots. That seems like a lot.

Michaels or other craft store. They sell a vinyl printer and rolls of Cricut® Vinyl for $10. You can cut it with regular scissors. I use it for numbers sometimes, then just peel it off an toss it.

do you have the capability to cut it into 35" circles yourself? (maybe purchase a stencil and cut with a very very sharp blade?)

If so just get a roll of 36" from amazon for about $20

this one adds horsepower

In reply to captdownshift:

I think I can- I have a bowl that would make a good template to cut around. I could find the fake CF rolls on Amazon, but searching is a pain over there. And I found a place where I can get a small roll of 3'x5' car wrap, too.

But IF I could not cut it- where would I get that?

Not sure what your price point is but a quick search found the following:

In reply to alfadriver:

that's a tough call, there's a few 36" wall clock stencils, but I'm not sure that they include a laydown cardboard stencil, which I'd recommend having and taping down. I'd likely contact a print shop (not kinkos) or a craft shop regarding cutting a 3" diameter circle to see if they offer it as a service or if they have a how to method that sounds foolproof.

Exactly what I'm looking for. For some reason, I could not find it on the SPS page when I was looking. Now I need to make some measurements on my car.

I'm not trying to second guess you, but 36" diameter is a big meatball. I'm wondering if 24" is too big for the door of the Manic Miata. Part of the reason the cost is so high is that 3 of them = 27 sq ft minimum of vinyl all together, with waste.

Actually, I'm quite sure you are correct. But I wanted to get a high size as an absolute number. Getting a sheet capable of making 3 3' rounds vs. having them cut at the local sign store was about 6:1 ratio.

And I'm trying to compare DIY with getting them- kind of regardless of the size.

the Amazon kit that tomtom posted say they are 12", and look good on a Mustang. The SPS ones, are a little more expensive- but it could be a size thing. Either are made with numbers in them for under $60.

And I just priced out the one Swank posted- again, well under $60 for three.

Thanks for all the help!

(GPS- your suggestion in my ad is what I'm going after- if you are reading this thread)

Measured my car- 12" will work great. And I've got a lot of options to get 3 for less than $60- since I got stuff from SPS before, I'll probably get from them.

Thanks for the help!

You can buy a whole package from lots of internet places. Pegasus, etc. Speedway might. Or, if you are in a part of the country where circle track is popular you can find local guys to make whatever you want. Ebay too.

A buddy of mine with a race prep shop gets me the whole car (hood, doors, rear bumper, class lettering, and driver name for both sides) for $30 so $60 seems like a lot for simple meatballs.
