Used a gopro for yrs but would like a simple video device that includes speed,g load, track map and lap timer.

I have such rotten luck with pretty much anything that's electronic I'm hoping theres something out there that's pretty idiot proof without needing to be an IT guy to tie it all together.

Btw my cars are all too damn old to use the OBD port Bluetooth thingy for additional data transfer.

Looks like TomTom and Garmin have added to mix of cameras.

They're all technical dude. If you can't set the clock on your VCR, then you're going to struggle.

There's software available to allow you to overlay captured data onto video, if you find a camera you like to use but it doesn't have any data capturing abilities you can capture data on your phone or a laptop, etc. and then combine them on a computer.

I was also thinking a smartphone app would be best for this (Harry's lap timer is another one). They're far from the best at recording video or data, but they're the easiest for producing video with data in it...you just calibrate your accelerometer, hit record/stop and a video with a synchronized data overlay and GPS map comes out.

The only camera I know of that also includes data acquisition is the new Garmin Verb XE. My Replay XD Prime produces fantastic high-quality video, but it doesn't have data acquisition built in....like the Garmin unit does.

Just buy a new Z06. Problem solved.

Whats a VCR?

Ok I'm not THAT bad,I just seem to suffer incompatibility problems with stuff that was supposed to play together.
