Last time I checked, St Joseph, MO had some to bid on. Prices sounded steep though. There is a shop down on South Broadway, Downtown StL that sells them. Also pretty steep. I want a street package P71, personally.

That color is great! I'd take that one too. Not only does it have the push bar, but appears to still have the cage in the back too.

It did, as did several of them. There was even one with the plastic rear bench. Just hose that baby out afar a hot date.

Also, that chicken must be damned good. It's 20 miles one way from world HQ to their restaurant!

But only about six miles from my house. I'm not stupid.

And, yes, it is world-class, fully weaponized chicken (and everything else on the menu, for that matter). Good old-fashioned Florida diner food.

A fully operational battle-chicken?

I have seen a place like that in Chicago. Recently there have been a dozen or so sitting at a place that does Canadian- USA conversions. I will snap picture soon.

Puh-lease, give me some credit. I'm already figuring it for at least 2 trips.

There's also a dealer in Minneapolis that specializes in retired police cars: http://www.xgovernmentcars.com/

Stuart, you bastard. I'm driving up to Mpls next weekend.

Okay, so what do you look for in buying a P71? Mileage? Age? Damage? Overall condition? I can't believe there is that much difference in the engine or drivetrain. What's the hot set-up?

I found a place in Northern VA that specifically sells used police vehicles. Seems to be their specialty and everytime I drive past there seem to be several that look very clean. Its hidden away on a side street in a small town.

from what I understand 03+ cars are the ones to look for. Drivetrain/engine is all the same, don't be afraid of higher mileage if the car is in good shape.

Ung, that dark blue one.... Wonder if I got that and got rid of my 2000 of the same color, would my wife notice? Oh wait, the 5.4 swap would be a must again...

Try to keep the mileage at or under 400,000 miles, the ones over 400K are usually on their last 100k of life.

It's a good idea to upgrade the bushings to poly they tend to wear quick. Keep up on the rear ends and driveshafts are AL and will self destruct if they are driven when worn out.

I guess the wiring can be a mess after the govt mechanics strip out all police only electronics. So make sure all the power stuff works right before driving off the lot. Here are a couple from around akron/cleveland for anyone in the area

$2700 Ive seen this one around it's in good shape http://akroncanton.craigslist.org/cto/3501403865.html
