I can't give away all of the details just yet, but the first 20 registrants for the $2014 Challenge will participate in a super-cool bonus shootout. So far we have received a dozen entries.

I’d love to register early and participate in the shootout but since my car is no where close to ready I’m waiting till the last minute.

Yep, we're not worried at all. As a whole, you all are just a little slow to register compared to, say, Rolex 24 teams.
Is this about how it was last year? For some reason i remember signing up around this time and there was already 20+. Of course, then i had to bail, myself.

I'm just worrying because i love you guys, but i'll be disappointed if i've killed myself on this damn car for 14 months only to make the 1000 mile drive (IN my challenge car that i've now completely ruined for street use) and party with only 20 of you.
