As the time to install my new fuel system draws closer, I am trying to figure out the wiring (something Ive never been fond of).

I will have a stock replacement pump,in tank wired up normally. I want to run the new inline pump off a switch for some added theft protection. What is the best way to accomplish this feat?

(Or should I go full racecar and wire each pump to a seperate switch as the wiring in this car is getting quite old)

Why not:  Have your existing fuel pump circuit (relay) trigger a second relay that drives your second fuel pump?  For theft protection, put your switch in series with the coil of your original fuel pump relay.  That way, with the switch open, no fuel pumps get power.

Hate to be that guy but is there a diagram for that? I understand the words but cannot figure out what it would look like

Power output of original relay to fuel pump. T in a wire to signal new relay.

Yeah, i'd be worried about having only one fuel pump running giving the engine just enough fuel to run lean and damage itself during the WOT getaway. cheeky

This is what I was thinking of doing but wasn't sure if it was a good way to go.

Sorry, no diagram.  It's just in my head.

You know... depending upon the type of fuel pump, I suspect having two in series and running only one, may actually drive the unpowered one. Not well maybe, but well enough that a thief could still make off with it, so it may be a waste to plumb/wire it in. Try it first.

Interesting theory. May be worth trying. The over-the-top in me wants to just wire each one to a seperate switch so I can feel extra "racecar" when I drive
