In about four hours I'm dropping the Daewoo off at "Turbo Spark Racing" and getting the new to me 2.2L Suzuki engine installed in favor of the evil, nasty, dirty, horrid, inefficient, gutless and heavy 1.5L in it right now. I realize it's lame to farm this out, but I don't have a garage or cherry picker right now.
I should also be picking up the steel, vacuum blocks, oil coolers, hydraulic couplings, gaskets and tubing needed to make a racing oil pan and custom intake manifold this winter break.
Officially committed!

Good luck (and try not to worry about the surgery...).
My project has been in a barn for three years. ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/unhappy-18.png)
Sounds awesome. Best of luck.

I'm going to tell everyone its a safety measure. Guys blowing by me at high speed all the time creates unsafe wakes.

Actually, the guy made me feel a lot better about it after I talked to him. Showed me some of the drag/time attack cars he's built and they seemed really well done. He also found a used engine supplier who will replace the one I have for free if it turns out to be a turd.
He's also throwing in urethane motor mounts for free after I told him a little story.
I had been assuming that my car made the factory quoted 107 hp. I referenced this talking to the shop owner and he laughed at me. Something about "I've never seen one top 90hp on a dyno. Most are around 70 whp."
Then I said "holy crap, I've got torque steer with 70 whp?"
Then he said "holy crap."
Then I said "how bout we do the hockey puck thing for motor mounts?"
Then he offered to just make them out of poly for free.
Cool. Car guys are car guys no matter where you are. The kids are gonna love it.
