Good luck with something very different and weird. Waves a hand from the Kenosha area where it was made when new.

My father bought one at my older brother's suggestion in the late 80's because one of the ampersand magazines gave it import car of the year.  Our mechanic could not fix it when something broke because in his words 'it did not exist' ie no parts available and no manuals to fix, when it was like 4 yrs old. After that I forbade my father from buying a car without my permission.

OP's first post was this thread and hasn't been back. Considering the subject, I suspect troll post.

This is a tough board to troll - it's hard to think of a build so absurd that nobody here has already tried something similar.

It was done by Chrysler, they may have no record of it being done due to the age of the car.

Unless you can find proof it was replaced then you should do it yourself.

I would think that, as it was a Federally mandated recall (if there was an Encore/Alliance in the junkyard, they had to replace its heater core) they would have to maintain records.

This is a lot of why manufacturers will recall any safety related items voluntarily... if they are forced to do it, it's a much larger hassle.

Pete,  you would be surprised at what shows up DECADES later.

1) In 2009 a  1978 Dodge Aspen for a wiring recall, that was still open.

2) In 2017 a 1989 K-car came in for some kind of software update recall,  still open.

And this is just a few that have shown up over the years.

As an update I forgot about this forum. Car is in much better shape than first thought. I ended up being able to source quite a few engine parts from Europe, including a full gasket kit for the engine.
plans for how it'll look at the end of this are subject to change but as of now Ive converted it into a 2 seater by removing the rear seats, gutting the carpeting as well.
the plan is to make a custom speaker/sub case to replace the rear bench seat.

as far as the carpeting, I tore it out due to rust patches caused by bed liner that's been peeling off underneath, lifted, cleaned and removed rust and old paint, and finally resprayed.
currently the project is working out which fwd engine im gonna hack together and put in there, along with wiring (I'll probably just end up paying someone for that).

slow and steady wins the race.
Im a perfectionist so pictures will come when it's worth seeing for y'all.

last but not least I appreciate everyone's support, jokes, and ideas. When I first posted this didn't think I'd find help but thank you.
