Glad it's in Wyoming, because otherwise it'd be in my garage.

So what in that car is worth a lot of money? The notoriously heavy mk3 chassis with awful suspension geometry, the autotragic slushbox, or the 7mge?

Clean yes, but the price is just OK. Mk3s don't have much going for them other than cool looks and good straight-line performance.

"Testing waters..." - I don't know exactly why, but whenever I see that I just move on. Seems to indicate that the seller isn't serious about selling. Am I wrong? Has anyone here ever bought a car from an ad that stated that?

As a former MK3 owner, I can tell you that nobody wants an automatic, non-turbo car.
It's a clean example, I'll give it that much.

People always get excited when I say I used to have a Supra, I have to cut them off and mention that it was not the cool kind.

Yo dawg I heard you like overdrive

I guess OD^2 is for ultra-high-speed cruising, like 7th gear in an MP4-12C

Ya it's a MK3 so this is its appropriate value especially as a NA car. Especially since you can get a 300ZX turbo for not much more and nice quality turbo cars for these are like $7000 when you can get a R32 GTS-T for $7000.

I live in the rust belt. We get excited when cars are that clean.

That is the only thing that car has going for it.

I've always wanted a MK3 supra turbo, but they just aren't worth it compared to similar priced vehicles. Most 80's cars in fact aren't worth it anymore, due to rust, age of components/first generation design of systems like fuel injection, turbochargers, and whatnot.

Well when you can get a clean Z31 turbo at like $3000 it might be worth it since they are so cheap.

I see your point, but I'd rather do that swap in something lighter.

I thought it might be an MK4. These older Supras go all day over here for pretty cheap. I don't see any reason to have one, for the reasons mentioned above, as well as others.

Not all of these reasons are super valid, but he does strike a few:

My #1: You can import a lighter 1jz Soarer (or 1jz supra) for less money than people want for their heavily modded drifted local MK3 Supras.

JDM MK3 is a good deal lighter. 1JZ is significantly more powerful stock as well.

oops looks like Soarer is still 1G-GTE/7M in this period. Nevertheless the 1JZ JDM Supra is still superior than the USDM version.
