This is my truck. 2006 Tundra SR5 with 212k miles. I have owned her for 4+ years and the second longest to the 911 at 22+ years.  She's not bad on the outside, but  she has lots of little chips and knicks, as well as some small dents on the passenger side bed. Two small rust spots on the hood where I removed an old man bug guard. Mechanically sound, timing belt done before it needed to be done, oil changes and tire rotations on time.  I'm hoping the 4.7 runs forever.   With that said... the silver in a sea of silver, black, white vehicles annoys me.  Not to mention the chrome grill strips and mirror covers.  I think should only be on Harley Davidsons and over the road trucks. The attached pics are after a wash tonight, and for the first time in 6ish months.  She hasn't been waxed yet.

Anyone have an idea what a wrap would cost? And how should I wrap it?  Initially I was thinking a bright color, and then I saw all the camo wraps, and then I went down the rabbit holes. After awhile I pulled myself out and figured I'd ask the question here.

Thanks

Not answering about the wrap because I'm not familiar, but how about a lift and some wheels and tires?  That would transform the look imo.  Here are a few examples in silver.

GRM article on DIY wrapping, they were quoted $2500 for a basic wrap.

People I've talked to that do exotic cars charge more than double that.

I thought about that too, but I don't want to lift it. It is all stock except the Borla exhaust which a PO put on.  I mean down to the radio knobs.  It is actually one of the only vehicles I have never messed with. I think I'm just tired of silver.

I wrapped a motorcycle a few years ago. I managed to get the wrap on there, including the curved tank, without many issues. My truck has a lot of flat panels so I would think it would be easier to wrap.

This is offered as my opinion so take it as such.  That truck isn't a "look at me" vehicle and hence is unlikely to pull off any wild colors or paint schemes well.  In other words, I don't think bright green or orange etc would look good.

I guess if you really want to change the color I would recommend something dark:  black, dark blue, dark green.

Bear in mind that a wrap will show every little imperfection (rust holes, chips, dings) and may well accent them, so the truck would still need bodywork similar to just painting it.  If you pay someone else you're likely to spend at least $2000.  Lower end wraps that I've seen (we use them on our work fleet) are just that.

Also keep in mind that if the vehicle sits outside a wrap will likely serve you for 5-7 years.  For my money I would leave it alone.  It's an appliance serving appliance purposes.  But let's face it, we are bad at leaving things alone or we wouldn't be here haha.

Absent that plan, however, I might consider a Maaco paint job.

Good luck!

I would body color the chrome and add some pinstripes to break up the silver.  Keep it simple, just straight pinstripes along the body line that runs the whole length of the truck.
