My first project car was a 63 Futura. It was a great car to learn stuff on. It had the 144 and Ford-o-matic 2-speed though so it was slooooow.  Still fun to cruise in.

What an awesome birthday gift.

That's amazing - looks like you did a great job raising considerate, thoughtful and successful kids!

Others have already said it well, but congrats on both the car and the kids!

Only somebody on this forum would be excited about getting a gift that's going to cost them time and money in the long run.

Awesome kids, congratulations on the new project!

In reply to Brett_Murphy (Agent of Chaos) :

You know, I thought about that and came to the conclusion that a completed car isn't much fun.

The Bentley is a great car. Want to know what I hate about it. It's done. I can take it for a spin. I can wash it (again), but that's about it. There is nothing to tinker with. There's nothing to figure out. There are no decisions to make. If it breaks, I can fix it, but nothing else. I'm actually considering selling it for those reasons. As neat as it is to drive, it's boring.

My first car was a customized '62 Comet, but then I had a few Falcons, with my favorite being a $100 '62 4 door that I put about $700 into and was my daily driver for years:
