Went up to get a Coffee and was greated by this just sitting there.
You'd think he could park properly, the doors don't even swing out and it should be as dent resistant as a Saturn, but I understand not wanting to risk it.
Cool car

They're interesting cars. There's one in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area I see from time to time. More or less an e30 3 series under the skin.

Looks like they only made 8,000 of them and none were officially exported to North America. Also, none of them have AC since the dashes are too small to accommodate it. At least that's what I gathered from Wikipedia.
Re the parking. The owner of the shop where it was parked it like that on purpose after the state inspection to keep others from parking close to it. Since he owned the parking lot I would say that is down right considerate of him to do for the owner.

Calm down, think it was a joke. I was about to make the same one except he was way ahead of me.

BMW Z1. Famous for having doors than slide down into the body rather than hinging out.

Yup. Definitely joking. I drive an E30 everyday. So it was a bit of tongue in cheek humor.
Nice car though. I have only ever seen them in movies.

I'm pretty sure that when most people park like this, it's because they are concerned about the other guy swinging their door into your car, not you accidentally swinging your door into the other car.

The Kaiser Darrin had doors that slide into the A pillar. It made the proportion a bit wierdo but probably a better hiding door solution.

I was at an event in Connecticut a few weeks ago and I saw a Z1 and a Kaiser Darrin on the same day!
