Depends on the reason for buying one. If it's to have something retro or as an investment, I get that. To get it because it's fast, well, maybe no. Thing is, technology marches on and was was really fast back then is only mediocre now (my 1989 Mustang GT had, what, 220 hp?). This has 320 hp, which was a lot, then. Heck, many pickup trucks now have >320 hp. (I remember a GRM article comparing a Jag E-type and Honda Odyssey van, guess which was faster...?

That one wouldn't be a good investment, though, because it's modified.
I do have a soft spot for the '96-98 Cobras. Don't tell anyone The engine was so smooth and happy.

I do too somewhat. Friends Dad had a convertible Cobra and many shenanigans were had in that car.
They're fast, even by today's standards. Go do a big burnout in one and then scoot to 150 mph. No problem. Remember, today's 320 hp EV or pickup weighs 2,000 pounds more than that Mustang does.
Horsepower isn't the only thing that matters... the length (and number) of the stripes you can leave behind you is more telling!
I got a ride in one of these back when they were new around Shannonville Motorsport Park, I can still hear that blower, good memories.
This one doesn't look supercharged. Maybe a 2001 or 2002? The supercharged units must have been a freaking riot.
Edit: Oh derp the article says 2001. It's right there. In the text. That I read. With my eyes.

Yeah, an all-stock one, though, would be a cool find.
We know the seller of this one, though. Tell them GRM says hi. :)
