What’s better than one Datsun 510 race car? How about two?

Billed as retired IMSA race cars, the two 510s are accompanied by a new racing engine, a backup engine and “too many parts to list.”

Located in Polk City, Florida, the whole lot can be yours for $7000.

If anyone has more information about the history of these two cars, please share.

It might not be significant, but any car with period racing history in IMSA is pretty rad in my book.

Yeah, I’d love to know more about these. I spent a few minutes looking online but couldn’t find anything. (Guess calling the seller is/was always an option.)

If they even have a small amount of race history and one possess the ability to get them going then that's a steal.

If you don't have the ability plan on spending about 30-40K.

Did IMSA have car log books like SCCA? If it also ran SCCA there should be a log book.

More than likely IMSA Radial Sedan class cars.

Looking at that first pic, you can just make out the RS on the IMSA class decal.  Also, Radial Sedan became the Champion Spark Plug Challenge later on, and that Champion decal just below the IMSA sticker would be just about where the rules required it to be.

I going to look at a 240z roller this weekend.

Um, world-ending rust?  That might be somewhat of a "value" defeat.  I dig me a good 510, but ain't no comeback from that level of decay . . .

I was going to suggest the same thing- and the series spawned a legendary Alfa- the TI Talledega. Which was basically a GTA that looked like a Giulia TI.

I've seen 510s with more rust than that restored.

Are rust repair panels being made for 510s ?

or do you have to make them all by yourself ?

In reply to californiamilleghia :

Some of the panels are available and you need to make some.

I wonder what's available out of Mexico since they built them down there too ?

Says "Nissan" on the valve cover. My brother had one and I don't recall it saying that. I wonder if this car is a JDM model, or maybe the engine is?
