While that oil filter location certainly makes oil changes a snap, I'd worry that it might get punctured while plowing through the zombie horde...
Is it just me, or are the suspension bits painted to match the "these are the parts of your car" diagrams at any tire and brake shop?
Also, while I'm not sure I want to try to outpedal the undead, a friend was wearing this t-shirt this weekend, and I have to share.

Brat, you're right. My bad.
Seems to me a front skid plate would be a fairly early addition.

Haha, we had one of those in school.
STI swap is a definate.. so is the skidplate.
Not so sure I am a fan of the paint.. but that is easy enough to fix
wrong side of the country, too bad. Love it, let's go huntin'!
Does that even have the horsepower to turn over those tires?
In reply to Osterkraut:
what about brakes to stop it? if it gets going that is

LOOK at that thing, stopping is irrelevant.
So the dude cut some pieces of 2"X8".250 wall square tube and spaced the subframe, driveline motor and everything down? Man he could keep luggage in the bay with all that extra space under the hood!
I am not too impressed by the engineering but it does look awesome. There is a lifted AWD XT in my town that is almost as cool.

it's an EJ25 away from being the most amazing things ever. That suspension is awesome.

I haven't done my vintage Subaru homework in a long while, but that looks like the original 67hp EA71. I may be mistaken, and it's a 73hp EA81 from the '80-84 GL and '81-'87 Brat lineup. Either way, the answer is no. I'm sure it's as fast to 50 as stock if you leave it in low range.
I'd rock it. Need to lose the camo job, though. I'd still take it in STI trim any day.

My Land Rover makes 33 hp at the wheels and runs stock 31" tires. It's no rocket on the pavement, but it's a lot better than you'd think given the specs. Of course, it's got diff gears that take this into account. I wonder if they've been changed on the Brat.
I am available for test drives and full reports if I am given the mission
I'm a machinist, not a design engineer; but if that big bologna tire stops turning, how spindley looking is that CV shaft?
Is that an oil filter rock catcher up front?

Yeah, this think looks neat, but seriously under-built. Those painted spaghetti noodles that are doubling as axles or steering rods (I think the dark blue is steering?) would not take much real use that those tires would invite. Then there's the stray june bug that'll fly right through that oil pan, valve covers, oil pan and leave your brains vulnerable during the ZA.
Not picking nits, but off-roaders don't Armour-All the sidewalls. They're needed to climb.

True. sidewall grip is important, but that stuff scrapes off in seconds once the sidewalls touch dirt, so it's not a problem
Looks good, but that oil pan is going to crack like an egg on the first obstacle it hits. It hangs so low that the best solution is probably a dry sump. I see what looks like an exposed and already badly beaten exhaust header too. Hood exhaust to the rescue?
Edit: Oh, it's a boxer, that's not gonna work
The dark blue is steering, the green is CV axle. This thing is completely useless for any REAL rock climbing etc but man is it a conversation starter!
