This thing continues to draw me in on multiple levels. Not only would it be perfect for the dirt roads around here, but for 2024 it's only available in yellow. I had a yellow 1977 Honda CB 400F Super Sport for a long time.
Honda's marketing department seems to be accomplishing exactly what they set out to do here.
This is one of the last photos I have of the 400F, sporting clubman bars, rearsets, and covered in Kydex dust at this point. I put a ton of miles on this bike.
There are used ones on advrider.com all the time.
Back before these came out, I yearned for a Grom for years for pretty much the same reason. Grew up on a tiny Honda bike. Looked like fun. Relatively cheap (but still very expensive for what you get) buy-in. But objectively not a great value and better options exist for the money. I finally justified it by saying I needed a new pit bike, and it's great for that but the real reason I own it is it's damn fun. If the Trail 125 had existed, I probably would have gone for that instead.
Between my dad's and my own garage, I have access to five bikes. I pick the Grom more than all the others.

A friend of mine used to have one when we were about ten years old. I rode it a few times, but then dismissed it in favor of my faster and more badass, yet much less reliable Rockford Chibi 60cc two stroke.
I saw a CT70 for sale on the side of the road last summer and thought it might be my friend's old one, but I was late and couldn't stop. It was gone the next day. I immediately regretted passing it by. Some research on the interweb revealed that these things are pretty collectible, and the search began. Several months later and several states away, I found this one. It was incredibly complete and intact, most likely due to the fact that it was actually registered for many years in Hawaii and probably adult owned.
I removed the carb for cleaning, replaced the bars, shined up the chrome and then sandblasted and painted the wheels. Almost every part is still available for these things. New tires and fork boots should arrive next week and I should be tearing up my lawn in no time!
I have a friend with one of the new trail 125s and another with a 70's CT90. We use them pretty regularly for setting up harescramble courses. The trail 125 struggles on steep hills - the CT90 has that nifty dual range gearbox so that it can still crawl up stuff. May or may not matter to you, but something I wasn't expecting.

If it's made by Zongshen and it's $1995 + $400 fees + $400 shipping like their little cafe racer, it might be worth considering.
I don't have any experience with them but I did see one this past weekend and it looked awesome. 
I bet you can find low mileage one on an Old Motorhome" forum , they were always on a rack on the back !
They started out as 90cc , then 110cc and now 125cc and the same basic motor was also used in ATC 3 wheelers , and the C90 ( now 125cc) style step thru ,

1978 Honda Trail 90, 194 miles, $5500
All original show piece quality runner, late 70’s honda trail 90. Has 2 speed gear box, still on the original tires from japan with only 194 original Miles. Runs and rides and gets lots of looks and smiles.
Hopefully this turns out better than your CH125 Elite experience. I bought 3 of them because of that thread. Mine are gone now because I couldn't justify keeping them, but I still have fond memories. I also really want a trail 125, but they have the same limited use for me plus a much higher buy in. Following along!

That's cool, and I'm following it, but if you look closely underneath, it's a little crusty. Admittedly, that's due to time and moisture, but it diminishes the appeal of the low mileage a bit.

I did, but they don't even have a VIN yet, they just know that they have two coming in for the year, and I'm first in line. It will probably be another month or so before it arrives.
I had a 2022 CT125 and I also have a 1971 CT90.
Just know the CT125 is too slow for any roadway over about 45mph. Mine would only hit about 52 on flat ground. If it wasn't for nostalgia these bikes wouldn't sell in the US.

I totally get that. I don't need this to do actual dual purpose motorcycle stuff. If I did, I'd get a Yamaha TW 200. I just want a fuel injected Honda Trail.
I have a couple of ADV bike friends who have them. They both own big bikes that they take off road, but I frequently see the 125s in pics on FB. I think one of them did the TAT on his. I see the appeal. I haven't ridden one despite having ridden numerous groms and monkeys.
You get yours yet? Is it as fun as we all know it's going to be?
