Harley big twin.
My wife got a Suzuki dirt bike in the 70's. She rode it and said "How come this thing doesn't sound right?" Then when she got a Sportster with drag pipes, it was "Yeah, that's what I was missing."

Any inline 4 that will turn 10K+, and Ducati twins are my favorites. Although I love the sound of all motorcycles, minibikes to Harleys.
Cause all stock exhausts kinda disappoint. Hard to get excited about the sound of a sewing machine, I mean VFR with stock pipes.
My wife's 1098 with uncorked Termi's sounds so good. I also like a nice 125gp bike, a pack of them together is even better.
Harley's LiveWire prototype sounds badass. The whine is incredible. I know most of it is the belt, but it sounds like a turbine.
I noticed that on both my 2001 Honda RC51 and my 2007 Honda CBR1000RR that it's hard to remember what they sound like at full power/high revs - simply because I'm no longer listening!
On stock pipes, the 600s sound fine, with the Yami or Kawi sounding best. Replace the pipe and the crossplane R1 sounds like a vee-eight. The old VFR800FI sounded like a big Detroit Diesel with a Cherrybomb exhaust. The BMW S1000RR sounds different from the rest - like it's in a minor key rather than major.

Some of the zx-10r's have a nice mellow-deep growl under load. I was astonished at what mine sounded like on the dyno.

Not stock.
In reply to Rusnak_322:
Check 2:44. Looks pretty stock to me. Might be gutted but doesn't look like an aftermarket pipe.
I am gonna go Ducati L engine (Monster, SS etc.) Not at idle (damn dry clutch) but going down the highway at a nice clip...music, just music.

You wife has a 1098? Are there marital problems at home?
I like the high revving V-twin sportbikes, with the Aprilia RSV 1000 winning.

I have a gift for your ears then, and its an epic sounding gift......the howling MV Agusta 500 3cyl in action.

Hands down Honda RC149 5 cylinder 125 GP bike.........21,000 rpms of glorious noise.
For me TZ250 is next followed very closely by Ducati F1 750
Runners up also have to include 2-stroke triples.

The RSV4 makes some pretty nice noises. Stock and aftermarket pipe. Not long ago i rode an RSV4 with a WERKS shorty pipe on it. Wow. besides being a rocket i thought i was directing a thunderstorm all around me. Loud, and powerful and left me shaking. Amazing bike.
