Has anyone seen the 650cc Fischer MRX?

Any opinions/impressions?

(No, I'm not canoe-ing. ...just fisching.)

I'm not sure they exist outside vaporware. I was looking forward to them and petitioning to be a dealer back when I was working for a Hyosung shop, and never heard peep from them. Too bad, really. I saw a lot of potential for both brands.

never heard of them. Looks like it uses the Hyosung engine, which I think is basically a copy of the SV650 engine. IMO, though the SV engine is fun & torquey, it vibrates a little too much. Plus 80hp is kinda low, especially for the price.

The fact that the press clippings posted on the website stretch back to 2004 and the link to dealers still says "coming soon" does not inspire confidence.

What was cool was that they were bespoke bikes with middleweight powerplants, which is a pretty rare combination. Yeah, they wouldn't turn the world backwards with torque, but they could go pretty good, and look cool and unique doing it. Order full carbon bodywork, Ohlins suspenders... It's a good combination of usability and exclusivity, if you ask me.

I know distributorship got shuffled around lately, but, like I said, I couldn't get a word out of anybody, even as a Hyosung dealer.

They DO, in fact, exist.

I just started helping out there on Monday.

The problem has been parts supplies. MOST of those problems are gone and the remaining ones are minor in comparison.

If you're interested in one, be patient. We're almost there.

Keith, do you have contact information for an actual human at Fischer? I'm sure my old shop would still be interested in finding out about carrying them. If you can pass any information along, I'll be sure it gets to the shop owner.

Feel free to email akcarlson at gmail dot com.
