New Years Eve 2011, approx 1pm EST. Last ride of 2011 for me. Supposed to get 4" of snow today
Friday I put another 60 or so miles on the tracker. Man, that thing is fun. Might take it out tomorrow 1/2 but Tuesday is supposed to get nasty cold down here.
Put on about 30 miels, today. It's been unseasonally warm, what little snow that has fallen melted within the day and it was in the mid/upper 30s.
I road to work yesterday. It might be the first January I've ridden. Michigan weather is being weird. 45° on Jan 6th was a bit odd
Rode the 'Wing all last week. Today, I had to pick up a part for my boiler. It was 35, sunny, and the roads were dry. So I took Mrs.Minis scooter. I came back home three hours later
Took my son to Choir at church on the bike last night. Took me 40 minutes to get home from the church 1 mile away for some reason.
I got out yesterday for a few miles, but I think that's it for a couple months. 3-6"i of snow is predicted for today. :(
I went last Wednesday, 58 degrees then it fell 30 deg in three hours and snowed 1/2". But today it is 65 f, I love La Nina. The weather this year is MUCH better than last year.
La Nina my ass, I finally bought a car in October after 2+ years without one. THAT'S why the weather's been great, or at least warm if wet, this winter.
150 miles today out to Frederick, MD and back. Also took a Sportster 883 Superlow for a test ride, fun little bike.
If the roads weren't so salty and I didn't have my insurance on hold, I would have ridden all week, too. It's been sunny and in the 40's.
Rode to work today. Around 6pm I got sent home to change my bike for my car since it was starting to get really snotty out... 2 hours later (and before I was off) it stopped. Built in extended paid lunch break ftw!
I got to ride twenty days in January. For Upstate Central NY, that's not too shabby! We got 12" of wet white stuff on Monday and it was gone by Wednesday. Of course I rode!
This winter has been amazing for riding. forget salt, bikes don't need babied!! [says the klr rider .. there's nothing to baby there.]
Rode the Ruckus to work a few days ago, I can't wait until it's warm enough to ride regularly again.
In reply to dculberson:
The city throws down so much salt (mixed with sand), it's worse than a gravel road. On top of that, I'm not too thrilled about washing my bike in below freezing temps.
Got a good practice day in yesterday (2-4) trying to get ready to ride a couple GNCC's (offroad) this year. My buddy has a nice 4 mile woods track that a couple pro's practice on.
