So, I got a bike and now I need the gear. I found this Joe Rocket on craigslist for $150:
Can anyone tell me anything about it? I think it is an early 2000's speedmaster, but idk. Any chance that it will fit being a size 48, and me being 6'0" at 190lbs?
thanks again guys
My advice?
stop at the local dealer and try on sizes.....find what fits then buy it. I paid 90 for my Joe Rocket jacket on CL
A size 48 usually refers to a 48" chest, which at 6' and 190 pounds you likely don't have. Jackets should fit snugly but still have room for the regular range of motion on the bike.
Joe Rocket stuff is a bit boxy for me, though their pants fit well. I'm a big fan of Rev'It and Olympia personally.
$150 for a used Joe Rocket seems steep to me.

Solid advice. $150 seems pretty high for a jacket that old. I am a gear whore and I rarely pay anything $100 for a CL or E Bay jakect. But FWIW, I am 6 and between 190 and 196 and I wear a 48.
Go try some stuff on! You could drop by the guy's house and see how the jacket works for ya.
I know I sound like a broken record on here, but $150 - $200 should get you a used Vanson off of Ebay, and they are really, really well-made. Searching through completed listings, Vanson 48 yielded ones that sold for $152, $202, and $100. If you're "regular" to slightly stocky in build, their numerical sizing is pretty close to sportcoat sizing.
I'd also recommend hitting the for sale forums over at advrider.com. Seems like there's always something good for sale.
BTW - I'm 6', ~180 lbs, and wear a size 44 jacket, at least in Cortech's sizing.
So, does this sound like a better deal?

The best deal is one that fits and you're willing to pay for.
