So, when I was 17 I had access to a Honda CB700 Nighthawk S.

Off the top of my head;
Honda CB650R
Suzuki SV650
Kawasaki Z650rs
Kawasaki Z900rs
Yamaha XSR700
Triumph Street Twin / Speed Twin 900 (maybe?)
Probably lots more I haven't listed. What are you most interested in about that bike or what you want in your new bike?
Cb1100 is on the short list of bikes for fun duty. If I'm commuting like I think I may be later this year I want more wind protection than a naked. Don't rule out a cb919 or 900 hornet.
Honda did just announce a new cb750 hornet.
What's your goals with it, fun backroads and around town? 690 Duke/701 Vitpillen/svartpillen is silly fun. You can do distance on it, but it will punish you for it with it's lack of wind protection.

The Nighthawk S was a great all around bike. Air cooled, decent power (80 hp as I recall), self adjusting valves and shaft drive with anti jacking technology that actually worked well. I would jump at the chance to have a modern equivalent! Super low maintenance, mostly oil changes (very easy) and tires.
All my life I have been riding GSXR600, GSXR750, Honda 954RR, Honda RC51, Ducati 748, 998, Panigale
Then thought I would give naked bike a try, standard bike. Was leaning towards a Monster. Really used to like the Triumph Thruxton as well.
Then early Covid got a screaming deal on a Street Scrambler Triumph. It is the slowest bike I have ridden in my life. But having incredible fun. Almost 4100 miles in 2 years.
I just saw a super clean S being auctioned on BAT this week. Made me miss the one at had in the mid 90's.
