Why can i not find cheap bikes like you all do? I look and look, and talk to people who know people, i stop at peoples houses and ask, im online looking at stuff, BUT nothing comes up.

It is a matter of chance...right place, right time.
I bought my Ninja this winter, just after Christmas when nobody is thinking about bikes, but about paying bills. Local guy was moving out of the country to teach ESL and needed it gone, so I got a fairly clean 03 Ninja 250 with 8k on it for $1300. I could probably sell it tomorrow for $1800.
Don't push it, just keep your eyes open. Right now is the time of year that a lot of people are looking for a bike, so the deals will go quickly and be few and far between.

Yup. Check Craigslist. Every day.
Also, don't pigeon hole yourself into a specific bike. If you lust over the rad neon graphics of a 92 Ninja 500, you'll likely never find a cheap bike. Keep an open mind and cash at the ready.

Check CL everyday. I just saw an ad on CL for some great bikes. I also use Search Tempest to check CL's in cities near me. That particular search engine helps a lot. Also, the developer tends to stop in on this forum for suggestions and such so he's very responsive.
Just keep your ear to the ground and get a runner!
