I hadn't been paying attention, I had no idea the prices were so far down. V-maxes for just a few thousand, Magnas for a grand or two. Dirt bikes for a few hundred.

This is not good for my home repair budget.

I love me some Magna..... those and a Superhawk GT are my current attainable dream bikes.

I'm not sure why i like the Magna. I like the early to mid 80s ones. Mainly for how they sound.

That's why I want a VFR when I get home! One of the sweetest engine sounds ever!!!

Funny you should mention this, I happened to stop and look at a Vmax that was sitting out for sale last weekend and was amazed at just how little the guy was asking for it.

It needed a bit of maintenance, but basically it was a solid bike and sounded incredible!

If I had word on my new job, it would likely already be mine!

V4's make for some of the best sounding bike engines ever. While the Magnas and older VFR's have dropped in price, some of the other bikes mentioned here like the Superhawk have almost a cult like following, keeping ther pricing up.

Others with cult status are bikes like the Honda GB500, Honda CB-1 and the Kawasaki W650 (a better looking old Bonneville clone than the new Boneville). Funny though most of these were never successful initially. Why is that?

I think the machines that become cult bikes aren't the types of bikes that attract new bike buyers.

Like the prices on Hawk GTs? A 20 ish year old bike with an even older engine that always seem to be $3-4,000. But I still want one. Cult bike if there ever was one.
